Over a million people have signed a UK government petition to revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU.
This is by a long way the biggest petition that has ever been on that website. It is almost 3 times the size of the largest pro-Brexit referendum.
Theresa May can no longer credibly claim that leaving the EU is the will of the people. In fact, by refusing calls for a referendum they know they’d lose, Brexiteers have tacitly admitted as much.
Now is the time to take back control of the Brexit process from the executive and give it to the people to decide.
