ContactPoint to be scrapped

ContactPoint was a government database of all children in England and Wales. I’ve covered it previously on my blog here and here.

The good news is it’s been scrapped:

A £235m government database containing the records of England’s 11 million children has been switched off. ContactPoint was established in the wake of the Victoria Climbie child abuse case to aid child protection.
