MPs with safe seats are more likely to be corrupt

According to some research by Mark Thompson, it turns out that the safer an MP’s seat, the more likely they are to be involved in the expenses scandal:

So there you have it, about as near as you’re going to get to statistical proof that if we used STV instead of FPTP as our voting system, MPs would be less corrupt.
