Scottish Parliament rejects SNP drinks ban

The Scottish Parliament has rejected the SNP’s plan to make it illegal for under 21s to buy drinks in off licences, voting 72 to 47 against the barmy idea.

The best quip came from Green MSP Patrick Harvie who said “Speech after speech talking about the need to save communities from the demon drink by MSPs who then sauntered downstairs where huge trays of free booze awaited us all.”
