Crewe by-election

The Tories have won the Crewe by-election with a majority of almost 8000.

If you extrapolate the result across the whole country using a uniform swing calculator, the Tories would get 501 seats (giving them a majority of 352), Labour would be down to 89 seats and the Liberal Democrats on 31.

Of course, it won’t get as extreme as that, but the most likely result for the next election looks to be a Tory win.
