An excellent book for studying the bible is Illustrated Stories from the Bible (that they won’t tell you in Sunday School) by Paul Farrell. Here’s an example page retelling the story in 2 Samuel 13:1-19, when David’s son Amnon rapes his sister Tamar:

Apparently God made Amnon do it (whether that was his defence in court, I don’t know).
This is just the sort of book that ought to be used in compulsory religious education lessons in schools.

Wow, is this really from a Bible story? I think you’re right. This book needs to be taught in every high school in America!
